What materials do Custom Projects use? We use sustainable wood for all the frames. We use mostly teak and walnut. Proteak Re- newable Forestry (www.proteak.com) is our wood provider and our partner, they are certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) as a sustainable wood provider. We don’t use any chemicals or colorants, for protection of the wood we apply a com- pletely natural wax that is made by Berhfer Laboratories specifically for us. The German lens manufacturer Carl Zeiss provides us with UVA and UV protection lenses, which we assemble with our own hands for every Custom Projects pair of sunglasses that we sell. What is the Custom Foundation? We partnered with Proteak Renewable Forestry and Custom Green (www.customgreenprojects.com), every six months we reforest an eroded area with the help and support of local students and volunteers who support our mission. Our basic principle is that for every pair of sunglasses we sell, we seed a tree.
